To Those Nearing Retirement
To Those Nearing Retirement,
There is a wonderful place to retire here at Wesley Homes in Des Moines, WA. In the Sunday Seattle Times there was an article about 30 & 40 somethings looking for more in their lives than making mega bucks for corporations. The article used the term “intentional communities” for the places they were seeking.
Wesley Homes is an “intentional community.” There are caring, concerned, friendly, active, intelligent people looking at life with wide open and wondering eyes, minds and ideas. There is so much to do here no one person could do it all. Just a sample of the “stuff” to do: golf, pool, arts, crafts, swimming, playing cards, exercise, writing class, an in-house TV station with several ways to be involved, knitting, programs, movies, special event dinners, good librariies — though the city library is just across the street and bus trips for fun as well as necessity.
We signed up to move here when Art retired. Both of us knew about Wesley long before then, Art’s grandfathers and mother had lived here. This is the place we came to visit them or pick them up to share a family day with them. Not everyone has that opportunity to learn about Wesley before retirement approaches, but folks still find good friends when they move here. There are folks on every floor of the buildings to help you get acquainted. There are several ways to meet your neighbors.
Wesley Homes is a great place to live when you have retired. Don’t wait till you think you “have” to move to a retirement home, Wesley has too many things to do to waste years waiting to move here!
Come along and meet the folks at Wesley Homes. We have lots of ways to include you in events, so just sign up with Linda at 206-870-1114. We look forward to welcoming you here.
Shalom, Jo Brown
