TGIF at Wesley Homes Means Free Ice Cream Social
Celebrating TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) with a toast of ice cream, Betty Gering, Shirley DeVries and Freda Drake residents of the Lea Hill Brownstone and Village Homes.
In honor of July as National Ice Cream Month, we captured the community of Wesley Homes Lea Hill at play on a summer sunny day as residents congregate in the early afternoon to play cards and enjoy the ice cream dished out free every Friday at 2pm on the sunny patio overlooking the manicured grounds.
On this occasion the card games were forgone for promenading with neighbors between the ice cream social and the yearly Lea Hill Estate Yard Sale organized by Will and Betty Gering.
Nothing like a community yard sale to bring out all your neighbors.

It is so rare not to see smiles in photos of Wesley Homes residents. It must have been the serious business of the “Free Ice Cream Social” that kept some of our residents from smiling in the photo above!

What the Gerings accomplished was absolutely extraordinary! With the assistance of a dedicated crew, they managed to receive, store, sort, price and display a huge amount of goods for the yard sale. It took hours and hours of time for which they can never be thanked enough. The money raised from their efforts will go to benefit our friends and Lea Hill neighbors who find themselves in need. If you see the Gerings or others on their team, be sure to stop to thank them. Their efforts and dedication were beyond all expectations!
