The holiday season is powerful. It brings the unique mix of strong emotions that we carry throughout our lives, from the great feelings of joy we have in the presence of those near and dear to us — and the sadness we feel when remembering those who have passed on and expectations not fulfilled.
Gardens Receptionist Marie Doughty celebrated 20 years with Wesley Homes Retirement Communities. Marie was surrounded by family, residents, co-workers and friends who know what a special lady she is. Thank you Marie for your service and dedication to the residents of Wesley Homes.
Wesley Homes Foundation’s Director of Fund Development Sten Crissey helps package frozen beans for Northwest Harvest. As a member of Seattle Rotary #4, Sten donned two hair nets to give his support to the needy. Also present but not pictured: Foundation Executive Director Kari Rallo and Marketing Coordinator Rachel Kirkman.

Thanksgiving is over, but dealing with the craziness of December is just starting. It may not be possible for us to avoid people or situations that push our buttons during the holidays, but we can change our reactions. With a little effort, it really is possible to stay serene during the hectic holidays.
If there is one time of year that brings out the generosity in people, it’s the holidays. This is the season of goodwill, but funds can be tight in our difficult economy.
